How to Counter Lapulapu — The Clash Lane King

By HOKMeta · Published 2026-01-15 · Updated 2026-07-27

Lapulapu's Power Windows (and When He's Vulnerable)

Lapulapu is strongest at levels 1-3 (his base damage is high) and level 4 (his ultimate spike is massive). He's weakest at level 2 (before he has all three abilities) and when his Heavy Blade stance abilities are on cooldown.

The counter-intuitive tip: Lapulapu wins most level 1 trades, but he's vulnerable immediately after using his abilities. If you can bait his Skill 1 in Twin Blade stance, you have about 6 seconds where his damage is significantly reduced. That's your window to trade back.

Champions Who Beat Lapulapu in Lane

Very few champions beat Lapulapu in a straight 1v1. But some have favorable matchups:

• Li Xin (ranged form) — Lapulapu can't touch you. Poke him from range, never let him get close.
• Augran — his early damage is higher than Lapulapu's. If you play aggressive at level 1-2, you can snowball.
• Musashi — his range advantage lets him poke Lapulapu without taking return damage.

If you're playing a melee champion into Lapulapu and you're not one of the above, your goal is not to win lane. It's to not die. Farm safely, give up CS if you have to, and outscale him in teamfights.

Stats from Camp HOK international ranked (synced 2026-07-27), cross-checked against HoKStats.gg builds and counters. 国服 (王者荣耀) runs on a faster patch cycle with a larger hero pool and different ban culture — use CN guides for mechanics and combos, but draft off global win/pick/ban numbers on this site.
