Ata Guide — Best Build, Combos & Playstyle

Ata Hero Identity

Role: Tank / Clash Lane (Top) | Strength: B (Situational) | Difficulty: Easy | Win Rate: 52.2%

Core Passive: Child of the Sea
His lost Health is preserved in a temporary Health buffer. Dealing damage converts buffered Health into actual Health.
After a while, the buffered Health will begin to gradually diminish.
His Basic Attacks deal extra damage.

Signature Ultimate: Ghost Ship
Builds temporary terrain along the outer edge of a cone-shaped area, dealing damage to enemies within it.
Gains crowd control immunity while using the skill.
He can use the skill again to make the temporary terrain disappear early.

TL;DR Ata: A clash-lane fighter/tank. Survive lane phase — don't die 1v1. After level 4, look for TP plays or roam mid. In teamfights, your job is to engage or peel, not to chase kills.

Ata Skills & Leveling

Skill 1: Wavewalking
Leaps into the air and slams down twice, dealing damage with each slam.
The second slam launches enemies.
Gains crowd control immunity while using the skill.

Skill 2: Sea Anchor
Hurls an anchor in the target direction, dealing damage and slowing enemies.
If the anchor hits terrain, he will be dragged to the contact point, dealing damage and knocking back enemies.
His next Basic Attack will be enhanced with a pulling effect.

Ultimate: Ghost Ship
Builds temporary terrain along the outer edge of a cone-shaped area, dealing damage to enemies within it.
Gains crowd control immunity while using the skill.
He can use the skill again to make the temporary terrain disappear early.

Skill Priority: Skill 2 → Skill 1 → Ghost Ship (max Skill 2 first)
Max primary utility/damage skill first, then Wavewalking, and Ghost Ship on cooldown.

Practical Tips:
• Lane phase goal: survive and farm. You don't need solo kills to win. If the enemy jungler is MIA, play safe.
• Before engaging a teamfight, check if your team can follow up. Diving in alone = feeding, no matter how tanky you are.
• Build adaptively. Enemy has heavy magic damage → magic resist. Heavy physical → armor. One defensive item choice wins or loses teamfights.

Ata Build & Itemization

Current recommended build for Ata:

Slot 1: Blazing Cape (PDEF +150, MDEF +150, HP +1,100
Area burn & imperil)

Slot 2: Eye of the Phoenix (MDEF +180, PDEF +90, HP +1,350
Boosts HP Regen)

Slot 3: Ominous Premonition (PDEF +300, HP +1,200
Slows attackers)

Slot 4: Succubus Cloak (MDEF +300, HP +1,100
Negates magical damage)

Slot 5: Dawnlight (PDEF +210, HP +900, CDR +10%
Shields on dealing damage)

Slot 6: Spikemail (PATK +45, PDEF +300, HP +700
Reflects damage)

Build Logic:
• Start with a defensive item for lane trading. Second item should add HP or dual resists for teamfight survivability.
• Adjust based on enemy damage types — don't autopilot the same build every game.
• If you get an early lead, slotting one semi-damage item (e.g. Shadow Ripper) accelerates your snowball.

Ata Arcana & Summoner Spells

Recommended Arcana: Lvl 5: Fate, Lvl 5: Harmony, Lvl 5: Void

Summoner Spell: Flash

Flash enables aggressive engages. Execute can finish off fed carries after your initial combo. Choose based on draft.

Ata Combos

Standard Combos:
Standard trade (Clash Lane skirmish or objective fight)
Wavewalking → Sea Anchor → Ghost Ship → weave basic attacks

Clash Lane (Top) Laning

Lane Fundamentals:
• Clash lane is a 1v1 island. The golden rule: survive first, pressure second. Not dying is way more valuable than getting a solo kill.
• Always track the enemy jungler on the minimap. When they're botside, you can play up. When they're MIA, play near your tower.
• Wave management: ahead → slow push into enemy tower then roam. Behind → freeze near your tower and farm safely.

Level 4 Powerspike:
• Most clash laners get a massive power spike at level 4 with their ultimate. This is your first real opportunity to trade aggressively or look for a solo kill.
• If you have TP, watch bot lane for opportunities. A well-timed TP can turn a losing 2v2 into a winning 3v2.

Mid-Game Side Laning:
• After taking T1 tower, your job splits between pushing side waves and joining fights. Push wave → check minimap → decide.
• While split pushing, if you can't see 3+ enemies on the map, they're probably coming for you. Retreat.
• Teamfights generally take priority over split pushing, but if you group without pushing your wave first and lose the fight, you lose towers too.

Teamfight Strategy & Positioning

Engage Responsibilities:
• You're usually the primary engage. Before going in, check: 1) teammates are in range to follow 2) enemy key cooldowns are down 3) you have your ultimate.
• Don't dive as soon as you see an enemy. Wait for the carry to misposition — one step too far forward is your engage window.
• After engaging, watch for the enemy assassin. Turning around to CC them when they dive your backline is often more valuable than chasing the enemy carry.

Peel vs Dive Decision:
• Your marksman is fed → stay back and peel. Stand between them and the enemy assassin.
• Your assassin/mage is fed → engage hard, eat cooldowns, let your carries free-fire.
• Whichever side has the gold lead is the side you play around. There's no one-size-fits-all — adapt to the game state.

Ata Matchups

Ata struggles against: Jing, Wukong, Musashi
When facing these champions:
• Play passive in lane. Surviving > trading.
• Call your jungler for help — don't try to 1v1 a counter matchup.
• Adjust build toward defense. Staying alive is more valuable than an extra damage item.

Ata counters: Agudo, Meng Ya, Luara
Against these champions:
• Play aggressive. Deny them farm and force them out of lane.
• Use your matchup advantage to create a lead, then roam and spread it.
• In draft, Ata is a strong counter-pick if the enemy locks one of these early.

Meta Performance & Ranked Tips

Current Meta Position: B (Situational), 52.2% WR

Ata isn't meta right now, but any hero can win in solo queue with enough mastery.

Climbing Advice:
• You'll need to outplay meta picks through superior champion knowledge. Know your limits and powerspikes cold.
• Team comp matters more. If your team picks strong early-game champs to buy you time to scale, Ata can work.
